Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 31, 2026
1. Two kinds of people
This policy covers our customers (people with a CancelIntel account) and respondents (people who answer a question inside a customer's cancel flow). For respondent data our customer is the controller and we are the processor: we hold the answers on their behalf.
2. What we collect
From customers: email, name, a hashed password, plan and usage counters, and a Stripe customer reference. Card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers.
From respondents: the answer they type, the page URL the widget was on, the time, and the IP address the submission came from. The IP is used to rate limit abuse. We do not ask a respondent for a name or an email, and the widget sets no cookies and loads no third-party trackers.
3. Free-text answers
A respondent can type anything into a free-text box, including personal information we never asked for. Our customers are responsible for the wording of their question and for not soliciting sensitive data. On request from a customer we will delete specific answers.
4. What we never do
We do not sell data, we do not build cross-site profiles, and we do not use one customer's answers for anything other than showing them to that customer.
5. Processors
Stripe (payments), Hetzner (hosting, EU). That is the whole list.
6. Retention
Answers are kept until the owning customer deletes the survey, and are deleted when that customer's account is deleted. Deleting a survey deletes its answers. To delete your account, contact support and we will remove it and everything it holds.
7. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing us. If you are a respondent, contact the company whose cancel page you answered on; if you reach us instead we will pass the request to them.
